Main Article Content
Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the species composition and density of seagrass ecosystems in residential and non-residential areas, particularly mangrove areas. The study was conducted in Tanjung Pinang Village. Data on seagrass species and density were collected using a square transect parallel to the coastline. The seagrass species composition at Station I, located within the residential area, exhibited the highest value of Enhalus acoroides at 91.85%. At Station II, outside the residential area in the mangrove area, Enhalus acoroides had the highest species composition value, at 91.69%. At Station I, E. acoroides had the highest seagrass density value of 67.70 plants/m², while T. hemprichii had the lowest value of 6.18 plants/m². At Station II, E. acoroides had the highest density value of 143.80 plants/m² in the mangrove water area. Station I had the lowest seagrass coverage value, 19.48%. Station II, outside the residential area in the mangrove waters, had the highest seagrass coverage value, 33.41%.
